ALL AROUND ME

at the back of the horse with flower mane
there are tears of hyacinth time
the growing wrath of darkness crinkling on my skin
wind: collapsing inwards
water: pursing of time
earth: the mysterious way in which God reveals his existence to us
the power of shadows
who has the scales of fire?

Translated by Yaprak Damla Yıldırım

ATLAS

how come i loved
that voice of yours to which i couldn’t give birth
your eyes are a cluster of stars
your shoulders taking on firmaments
are cold breaths of tablets
your fire hasn’t cooled yet
your silence that writes on water
your wrath tied to a thunder
is the unbearable burden of the world
Atlas the last castle of defeat

Translated by Yaprak Damla Yıldırım

WALTZ

the sorrow leaking from our history
threatens the throne of loneliness
it’s an art to resist
the doubt that gnaws our laughs
console me with your purity
decked with mosaics your voice
envelops sand grains
do not drag the wrecked past of ours
into the damnation dark
let the wings of death embrace us

Translated by Yaprak Damla Yıldırım
