at the World Congress of Poets will be held in Prishtina, Republic of Kosovo, from September 25 to September 30, 2026.
This international congress, now in its 45th edition, brings together poets from all over the world to promote poetry, cultural dialogue, and artistic collaboration. September 25 is designated as the arrival day for participants. Prishtina offers excellent flight connections with many European cities and beyond, making travel convenient and accessible.During the congress, all participating poets will have the opportunity to read their works in organized poetry sessions. Additionally, an international poetic anthology will be prepared and published, featuring selected poems from the participants.
Poets who wish to participate are invited to send their materials to the official email:

Submissions should be structured as follows:
- First, indicate the country of origin,
- Then provide full name (first and last name),
- Followed by a short biography (250–300 words),
- And finally three (3) poems in English.
This is a special opportunity to be part of an important international event and to share your poetic voice on a global stage.

- Single occupancy room: 115€ per night (BB)
- Double occupancy room: 135€ per night (BB)
- When you arrive at the hotel each poet has to be registered and to pay 200€ (euros) for the food and drinks.

SYNOPSIS OF THE PROGRAM
The World Congress of Poets 2026 will be held in Prishtina, Kosovo, from September 25 to 30, 2026, bringing together distinguished poets, writers, translators, scholars, and cultural representatives from around the world. The Congress aims to promote intercultural dialogue, literary cooperation, and the universal values of poetry as a bridge among peoples and cultures.
September 25, 2026 (Friday)

Prizren
Arrival and Official Opening Ceremony
- Arrival of international delegates and poets at Prishtina International Airport.
- Transfer and accommodation at the official Congress at Emerald hotel.
- Registration of participants.
19:30 – Official Opening Ceremony
- Venue: Exclusive Hall of the Congress Hotel.
- Welcome addresses by Dr. Jeton Kelmendi, President of IWCP, Ernesto Kahan and distinguished guests.
- Introduction of participating delegations.
- Ceremony of Doctorate to the important persons …

9:00 – Departure by bus to Prizren
11:00 – International Poetry Reading
- Venue: Main Square of Prizren.
- Open-air literary gathering featuring poets from participating countries.
- Discussing on peace and tolerance- poetry role on it.
13:00 – Lunch in Prizren
Afternoon
- Guided visits to the city’s cultural and historical landmarks:

- Sinan Pasha Mosque
- Orthodox Monastery
- Catholic Church
- Historic Old Town

Evening

10:00 – Visit to Gadime Cave
- One of Kosovo’s most remarkable natural monuments, internationally known for its rare marble crystal formations.
Poetry Readings Inside the Cave
- Selected readings by 20 poets in the unique natural setting of the cave.
13:00 – Lunch
- At a major restaurant near Prishtina.
Evening Gala Ceremony
- Presentation of literary awards, recognitions, and special distinctions.

Poetry among the Rugova Mountains – Morning Departure to the Rugova Mountains
