He is an internationally appreciated poet, translator, publisher and promoter of international poetry. He <\/span><\/span><a name=\"OLE_LINK1\"><\/a><a name=\"OLE_LINK2\"><\/a><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">w<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">rote short stories and literary reviews, but <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">now<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">poetry, so <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">far <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">thirteen<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> books<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, published in 2<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">9<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> countries<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">He<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">translated \u2013 he speaks six languages &#8211; more than thirty collections of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">German, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Italian, Spanish, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Latin American, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">English and French poetry<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">and rendered Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Persian and Korean poetry into Dutch.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">As founder and editor of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the Belgian publishing house <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">POINT Editions (<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">PO<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">etry <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">INT<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">ernational) he published more than eighty collections of mainly modern, international poetry. In 1996 he set up a new poetic movement, called <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">neo-sensacionismo<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> with the famous Chinese poets Bei Dao and Duo Duo<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s8\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Germain Droogenbroodt organised and co-organised several international poetry festivals in Spain<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, is also<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> vice president of the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Academy Mihai Eminescu, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">co-founder and advisor of JUNPA (<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Japan Universal Poets Association)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, artistic <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">advisor<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">of the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Ital<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">i<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">an movement <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Poetry &amp; Discovery, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">and founding president of the Spanish cultural foundation ITHACA.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> He also collaborates with the Italian poetry publication Margu<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">t<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">te.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">His poetic oeuvre is many-sided<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, but having visited the Far East more than 60 times and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">being <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">a great admirer of Chinese philosophy, his poetry has become very philosophic, making a start with his poetry <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">cycle \u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The Road<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u201d, (<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">translated into Chinese by Bei Dao as <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">TAO) a poetic bridge between the East and the West, inspiring <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">important painters, such as the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">great <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Indian <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">artist <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Satish Gupta, who illustrated 5 of his books<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">His poetry, considered Taoist and ZEN has <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">also <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">been published in <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Chinese in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">G<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">ermain Droogenbroodt is <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">yearly <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">invited <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">to give recitals and conferences <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">around the globe. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">In China he was invited <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">at the Qinghai Lake Poetry Festival, guest of the Shanghai Writers\u2019 Association, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">guest of honour <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">in 2018 <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">at the Wu<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">x<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">i <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">YiJing<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">conference<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> and at the 2<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s9\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">nd<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> Shanghai International Poetry Festival.
