In this <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">poetry book, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">L\u2019Et\u00e0<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Mitica<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u201d (I <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">QdB<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, 2019)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. the poet moves mainly within two opposite dimensions: love \/ life and war \/ death. Kelmendi fought during the Kosovo war, experiencing firsthand the fear, the anxieties, the sense of precariousness that every war brings with it. But he has treasured this experience, trying to survive thanks to the power of love. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">He wrote in the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">poem \u00a0\u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Love in tome of war\u201d :<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">If I confided to a friend \/ That I want to love \/ In time of war, \/ H<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">e would take me for a fool, \/ Bu<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">t even in the most violent clashes \/ A soldier never stops thinking about love<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u201d<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. And in light of love, a<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> feeling without which the life of every human <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">plunges<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> into a dark abyss, the poet <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">re<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">lives the past, the places that marked the path of his life (Pristina, Volos, Ljubljana, Brussels, Tirana, Milan, Budapest)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. In light of love <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">he lives<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the present and dreams of future.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">In his \u00a0verses the readers can find <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">f<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">eelings, affections, the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">shiver<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> of existence<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. Kelmendi\u2019 s poetry is rich in metaphors, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">analogies, images <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">by which the poet writes about <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">tragedies, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">sorrow<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, enchantment, wonder, beauty. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">H<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">e<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> often<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> uses intense metaphors and the reader is <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">fashinated<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">by<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> an &#8220;other&#8221; dimension, sometimes surreal. The <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Italian literary <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">critic and poet Dante <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Maffia<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">observed in the afterword of the book: &#8220;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">it is <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">very beautiful when his surreal vein finds the right figure to show the clarity of his imagi<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">nation and places within<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">short circuits the ideal adhesions, the ferment of the soul, the desires&#8221;. Kelmendi&#8217;s poetry also has an important, significant civil vein: \u00a0many texts<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> are<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> about <\/span><\/span><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">his homeland, finally free after a long and bloody war<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. He never <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">fall<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">s<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> into rhetoric, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">because he <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">enrich<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">es<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> his verses with the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">warm<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> breath of existence<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">He<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> recounts<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">tragic <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">experience<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> of the war<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">that <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">he <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">faced <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">through the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">love. In some poems he addresses<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> to a<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> female figure<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> never identified<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, whose presence is fundamental for the author: &#8220;With you, I walked on the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">blade<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> of the world, \/ With the loves of our earthly game. \/ In our <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">meetings the<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> light was born &#8230; <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8220;.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> book &#8220;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">L\u2019et\u00e0<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">mitica<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8220;, as<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> Ernesto Kahan <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">wrote, \u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">makes<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> known to<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the one of the most significant voices of modern Albanian and European poetry<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Laura Garavaglia<\/span><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jeton Kelmendi is a rich personality, with multiple interests, a tireless explorer of the reality, a poets who wants embraces the breath of the world, who want to capitalise every experience to fan the flames of his poetry.
