TASHI<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have a granddaughter named<\/p>\n

Natasha Rose Clarke.<\/p>\n

She prefers to be called \u201cTasha\u201d or \u201cTashi.\u201d<\/p>\n

I prefer the latter.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tashi sings original songs<\/p>\n

which she sometimes accompanies<\/p>\n

with her mandolin, guitar, or uke,<\/p>\n

like Dylan with his harmonica.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her UNncle Mark, a pro songwriter,<\/p>\n

who was very critical of singers or instrumentalists,<\/p>\n

when first he heard Tashi sing,<\/p>\n

was over the moon about it.\u00a0 I am, too.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The black holes that sometimes<\/p>\n

discord my dreams of things I did wrong<\/p>\n

or things I ought to have done<\/p>\n

are brightened by Tashi\u2019s singing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They are what the ancients called,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe music of the spheres.\u201d<\/p>\n

For me, they are a new constellation<\/p>\n

astro-streaming in my nocturnity.<\/p>\n

How grateful I am for her creative power,<\/p>\n

a luminous talent, perhaps l\u2019dor v\u2019dor<\/em>,<\/p>\n

the legacy of artistic mother and grandmother,<\/p>\n

passed from generation to generation.<\/p>\n
