Among them is the distinguished Albanian poet Jeton Kelmendi. For several years, he has explored Gogyoshi, and now, with profound artistic commitment, he presents this collection of 100 Gogyoshi poems unified under a single theme: The Breath of Cosmic Silence.

Kelmendi has built a cultural bridge between Albania and Japan, writing in his native Albanian and contributing to a poetic dialogue that transcends borders. For this reason, I regard his work as a monumental contribution to the evolution of Gogyoshi and to world poetry at large.

What makes this collection especially original is its structure. It is divided into 10 thematic chapters, each containing 10 Gogyoshi poems:

Friendship and Human Connection

The Mystery of Love

Life and Its Gentle Pulse

Nature as Witness and Mirror

Peace and Inner Light

Freedom and Dignity

Family and Belonging

Philosophy and Thought

Plants and Animals

The Universe and Cosmic Presence

Together, these ten themes form a harmonious whole — a unified spiritual and poetic vision, much like a magnificent cathedral beneath a boundless sky. Through these 100 poems, Kelmendi reflects on the wide spectrum of human and cosmic existence: from friendship, love, and family, to nature, animals, and the stars — extending from the intimate realm of the heart to the vastness of the universe.

There are three main characteristics that define Kelmendi’s Gogyoshi:

First, brevity. Their simplicity invites readers to carry the verses in their minds and recite them softly — a core essence of Gogyoshi poetry.

Second, philosophical depth. Each five-line poem is a distilled worldview, a meditative fragment that evokes quiet reflection on life, time, and the cosmos. These poems are like silent prayers whispered to the stars.

Third, symbolic ambiguity. The concise language carries multiple layers of meaning. Each Gogyoshi opens a door to silence — not an empty silence, but a rich, resonant one. The words transcend their literal meaning and enter the realm of the spiritual and eternal. This is not absence — it is the breath of cosmic silence.

Let us now step into that silence.
