Biography: Vatsala Radhakeesoon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vatsala Radhakeesoon was born in the exotic island, Mauritius on 17 October 1977.
\nShe started writing poems at the age of 14. In 1995, when she was 18, her poem Loneliness was published in the most prestigious and widely read local newspaper L\u2019Express. She is the author of the poetry books When Solitude Speaks (Ministry of Arts and Culture Mauritius, 2013),
\nDepth of the River (Scarlet Leaf publishing House, Canada, 2017) and Hope (President\u2019s Funds for Creative Writing, Mauritius, 2018).
\nVatsala Radhakeesoon is one of the representatives of Immagine and Poesia, an Italy based literary movement uniting artists and poets\u2019 works. She has been selected as one of the poets for Guido Gozzano Poetry contest, 2016 and 2017. In December 2017, she was awarded 1 of the 100 most influential women of Mauritius in the category of Arts and Culture for her
\nmulti-lingual poetic skills by Train to Gain Ltd.
\nVatsala currently lives at Rose-Hill and is a freelance translator, interviewer and reviewer.<\/p>\n

Amidst the war
\nI\u2019m still there
\nbut blinded by
\nyour weapons of ego
\nyou cannot
\nsee me
\nfeel me
\nbreathe me<\/p>\n

As an observer,
\nI can see
\nyour mind\u2019s illusion<\/p>\n

As a counsellor,
\nI whisper
\nin every human ear
\n\u201cO human race!
\nO God\u2019s favourite creation!
\nTransform prejudice into tolerance
\nLet the power of communication
\nflow and blossom into
\nthe flower of negotiation<\/p>\n

O human race!
\nRemember, please remember!
\nOnly love can appease
\nthe heartbeats of hatred
\nOnly love can fly
\nwith the doves of peace<\/p>\n

True love has no wall
\nTrue love never fragmentizes,
\nTrue love never divides the world
\ninto individual segments
\nTrue love can only unite
\nthe whole\u201d
\nO human race!
\nAmidst the war
\nmy fragrance is veiled
\nbut I\u2019m there, still there
\nPlease stop fighting
\nbecause in the end
\nyou can\u2019t deny it
